Kampai is a family restaurant in upstate New York, founded in 1975 by Richard Matsushima. This place is everything I love about gastronomy - brings all generations together, amazing food & super good vibes. It was quite a challenge to capture the true spirit ok Kampai, since I’ve never been there in person. I’m really happy with the result and dreaming of the day I can taste their famous Hibachi.

In the design, my goal was to combine Japanese tradition with American laidback lifestyle. I decided to paint delicate watercolor illustrations and contrast them with bold, ink titles.
